Yet you talk about building hotels. why don’t you invest in developing the minds of our children and improving our healthcare sector? But alas, the rich will become richer and the poor, poorer.

Dominica has no hope without a tourism economy. But with horrible infrastructure, litter and pollution everywhere and people not caring or contributing to it, and the viloence and racism tourists encounter, what does anyone expect?

Floridian when we are talking about nine thousand plus visitors to an island in one year, that is an indication, that the island Dominica or any other is not know among vacationers. Skerrit and the Labor Party are backward silly people okay; so do not expect any thing sensible to come out of his mouth except some fart!

He will be running his mouth that Dominica does not need what Vegas has to attract tourist. I suppose the name Nature Island will! When Skerrit was in Las Vegas, he should have gone to the State Line separating the State of California, and Nevada; to count how many cars go past him with California registration plate: perhaps within an hour more than fifty thousand would have driven past him going to play for a few hours then return to Los Angeles, and other cities.

Another fifty thousand might drove past him going to spend a week, and Kid Francisco might be in the crowed.

      Cont:

The Las Vegas Strip alone attracts more international visitors per year, than all the visitors to visit Dominica in all of our tourism history!

Skerrit’s purpose in life seems be to keep Dominica and the people of Dominica backwards! When a man who is the head of a country allow another prime ministers to dictate to him that Dominica, is better off without an International Airport, while he builds an International Airport on his island, it is not difficult to figure the Prime Minister who allowed himself to be fooled is not fit to hold public office. It would appear we are dealing with an illiterate delusional individual posing as a prime minister.

Skerrit had better become familiar with the statistics of visitors to Las Vegas Nevada, where he will discover that tens of millions of people visits Las Vegas each and every year. There are few industries in Nevada, Nevada’s economy is based on tourism; for your information Skerrit, if you buy a house in Las Vegas, you…

. There are few industries in Nevada, Nevada’s economy is based on tourism; for your information Skerrit, if you buy a house in Las Vegas, you do not pay property tax from your pocket, proceeds from the casinos pay for that.

Meanwhile you Skerrit run around crawling on your belly selling Dominica passports to criminals, and begging for money to run Dominica. What are you going to do now that Venezuela is practically bankrupt, and the Chines economy is on the decline? You should be ashamed of you ignorance to be talking such nonsense Nevada is one of the fastest growing city in America though the total economy is based on tourism!

The people who come to Dominica as visitors are those who are simply moved by their God given instinct to visit this little forgotten, isolated and place. The MOT, DDA and government have no clue what it tales to get a tourism industry sustained.
When I visit our neighbours and witness the kind of tourism related activities that is going in these places, I am often left Jaw dropping!
    Lets face it fellow Dominicans:
Our port facilities are obsolete, worn-out, and not customer friendly far less for inviting.
On the contrary, while Roseau has absolutely nothing exciting for visitors, this corrugated place has all the elements that will drive visitors away such as a festering vagrant population, garbage disposal is out of control, the gutters are not flowing and the stench is unbearable.
Our streets are narrow and are further compounded with overgrown forest on the roadsides and in some cases, you even drive through forested tunnels. Maybe that’s one of our attractions!
    Lord save…

Why would a visitor want to stay in a country, when he listens to the local radio station and hears the Prime Minister, yes the leader of the country, publicly encouraging members and supporters of his political party to call people traitors and go intimidate, harass and frighten members of the opposing political party because of a difference of opinion. Why would a visitor want to spend their money in country where the Prime Minister has no respect for his people. If he can tell his own people,” go to hell,” when they ask him a legitimate question, can you imagine what he will say to a visitor. How can a visitor want to overnight in a country and if he falls sick, he cannot get a hospital bed for hours, maybe might not even be able to see a doctor. The ex Prime Minister, Mr. Patrick John, is an example. Mr. Prime Minister, fix those problems and more immediately and that hatred you have for Mr. Lennox Linton and the UWP, dump it into the garbage bin

Apart from the natural beauty that the island has there isn’t much to do or see in this place. There is a video online (YOUTUBE) where Skeritt is proudly saying that Dominica doesn’t need the things that Las Vegas has like the strip clubs, the shows, casinos, the night life, the regular clubs, and the works. He said that we have beaches and rivers and that’s enough. Can we notice the dumb unambitious mentality here? Based on the things that Americans and people from other parts of the world have at their disposal in their countries Dominicans should feel lucky that tourist are coming to their shores. They come to Dominica because they’re looking for a different experience not because their country isn’t beautiful. Soon enough that tourism industry will evaporate into thin air just like agriculture. Miss Charles was better than Skeritt because before she left office she build bay front but Skeritt’s ambition is to kill every living industry the island clinging to before his time is up
