Dominica to benefit from health and wellness project

Dominica is among more than 20 Caribbean countries currently benefiting from a 35-million Euro project geared at enhancing the country’s health and wellness industries.

The project is being funded by the Caribbean Development Bank and the European Union and is being implemented in collaboration with the Caribbean Export and the Caribbean Spa and Wellness Association (C-SWA).

Director of the Discover Dominica Authority Collin Piper said the move to enhance the health and wellness sector will complement Dominica’s potential as a leading tourism destination with a focus on its natural attributes.

“As the nature island we pride ourselves in developing the tourism industry under the three main pillars: nature, culture and adventure,” he said.

According to Piper, the country’s tourism master plan speaks to the need for more diversity and added value to the tourism product, and one of the niche areas identified is the health and wellness sector.

“We are pleased to see the efforts to further expand the health and wellness sector being a priority development area, not only locally bust across the region,” he said.

Meantime Representative of Caribbean Export, David Gomez, told a health and wellness symposium on Tuesday that the main objective of the project is to push for export opportunities on the European market.

Being jealous of other ppl accomplishments won’t make your life any better, it would just make your bitter. Put that energy in improving ur life instead of trying to bring down others.
