Trendsetter releases “De Pee Pee” for Carnival 2025

Narrin “Trendsetter” Murphy aims to make waves in the 2025 Dominica Calypso Association (DCA) Quarter Finals with his new song titled “De Pee Pee” (DPP). This song addresses a pressing issue on the island of Dominica: the widespread practice of public urination. In a recent statement, Trendsetter commented on the importance of this topic, saying, “De Pee Pee is a timely reminder that action needs to be taken to reduce the instances of public urination.”

Public urination, particularly on private property, has become a known social issue, affecting sanitation and the quality of life for residents. To tackle this problem, Trendsetter hopes that “De Pee Pee” can become a theme for a “No Public Urination” campaign. He explained his plan to use social media to spread awareness, emphasizing that this song is part of his broader public awareness campaign.

The song, “De Pee Pee,” was written and composed by Alex Bruno with contributions from Narrin Murphy. It features musical arrangements by Peter Letang, who also took on the roles of recording and mastering engineer. Vocal harmony was added by Tasha Peltier, while the concept for the song originated from Jilian Gary George, also known as Sarrow. The production took place at KASP Studio.

Trendsetter, who began his Calypso career in 2008 with the hit song “Stressing Me,” has been captivating audiences ever since. With a repertoire that includes popular tracks like “Readymade,” “Roster Lover,”  “Part Payment”, “Lie On The Man”, “Jing Ping Bèlè”, and “Figures,” he continues to engage fans with his style and storytelling.

As the carnival season approaches, the Trendsetter encourages everyone to have a “Public Pisa-Free” carnival in 2025.
