Tropical Depression Nine becomes Tropical Storm Isaac

Met Officials say TS Isaac will begin affecting Dominica on Wednesday
The Dominica Meteorological Service has reported that at 5pm, Tropical Depression number 9 was upgraded to Tropical Storm Isaac in the Central Atlantic.
At 500 PM, the center of the storm was located near latitude 14.5 North, longitude 36.6 West.
This system, the Met Office says, is projected to begin affecting the Lesser Antilles by the middle of next week. On the present track, Isaac is expected to begin affecting Dominica on Wednesday and passing near to or over Dominica on Thursday.
Residents are advised to closely monitor the progress of Isaac.
Isaac is moving toward the west near 7 mph (11 km/h). A westward motion with an increase in forward speed are expected during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Additional strengthening is forecast during the next few days, and Isaac could become a hurricane by Monday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
Meantime according to the weather outlook for Dominica, a weak high pressure system is expected to be the dominant feature across the area, tonight into tomorrow. Light winds and daytime heating could produce some cloudiness, localized showers and a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms by tomorrow afternoon. By evening, a surface to low-level trough associated with Tropical Storm Florence is expected to move through the area.
Moderate seas are expected during the next 24 hours with waves peaking up to 5.0ft.

When I think after 10 months, most of the roofs of my brothers and sisters in Dominica are still uncovered, it saddens me greatly. No matter the reason this is not good, something must be done about such glaring inefficiencies and unfairness. It must be let known these things are not acceptable. We cannot just say “oh well” and move along, no matter who is at fault, who is responsible, or who is to blame.

The weather makers/geo engineers/american military design this one to hit the entire chain of islands. its coming in a straight line. The m.ass.es still will not wake up. They will blame it on God and mother nature. Sleeping sheep man.

how ironic eh look a storm coming straight for Dominica and the name just happens to be Issac. it could have been named Helene but a depression which was formed after this one, developed faster and took the name Helene.Dominicans can be so annoying with their love for one man Skerrit, when they should be loving and praising God. I hope it passes straight cause if it doesnt God help us. All this time for us to be preparing for times like this, we there playing politics and trying change law to register people overseas.SMFH……

The relevant authorities should be supremely prepared in the event that the country takes a direct hit from the impending storm. All citizens should be taking the necessary precautions to avoid the loss of property, limbs and lives. Names and locations of shelters should be blanketed across the airways and social media. Those who live in vulnerable areas should be given keen attention and assistance . It’s better to be fully prepared and nothing happens than to be unprepared and it materializes. Hope and pray for the best my people.

Dominica can take no more adversity. Just hope the island will be spared from the ravages of another hurricane. Dominicans should bruise their knees and implore the Father for compassion. I pray that the storm will dissipate over open waters.
