The National Hurricane Center has announced the potential issuance of a tropical storm watch for Dominica within the next 24 hours. This comes as a tropical wave over the central tropical Atlantic shows signs of development, with a high chance of forming into a depression or storm over the next 48 hours.
In the meantime, a weak ridge pattern will dominate the weather across Dominica, resulting in a relatively dry atmosphere for the next 24 hours. However, low-level moisture trailing the tropical wave could bring a few showers to the area.
Residents should also be aware of a low concentration of dust haze expected over the next few days. Those with respiratory sensitivities are advised to take necessary precautions to avoid complications.
Seas are expected to be slight to moderate in open water, with waves peaking near 5 feet today.
Regardless of the tropical wave’s development, flood alerts and marine advisories will be issued for Tuesday. Interests in Dominica and the northern Lesser Antilles are urged to monitor the system’s progress and begin making preparations. An increase in wave heights is anticipated as the system approaches.
I hope for this tropical wave to dissipate. So much trouble in this world – natural and manmade.
We have genocide in Palestine (Gaza), military invasion in Ukraine, uprising in Bangladesh, civil wars in Africa, riots in UK along racial lines, Covid resurgence, crippling inflation leaving many penniless, now a pending TS/hurricane.
Man, living ain’t easy.
