Brian Linton, the brother of United Workers Party (UWP) leader, Lennox Linton, who was arrested this morning and brought to police headquarters in Roseau for questioning in connection with allegations of incitement, has been released without charge.
Brian Linton himself made the disclosure at a news conference of the United Workers party now underway at the Prevo Cinemall.

I watched a demonstration yesterday where the teachers were asked to boycott school, (the police had already done their part) but they went to work which led to the demonstration lacking energy and a vital message. My question is this. You are not getting paid and you are not happy with that state of the country, why does it have to take Linton to gather a meeting for you all to show your dissatisfaction? Do what you tell your children. Stand up for yourself because what I watched lastnight, if I was the PM I would not have anything to worry about.

So what then was the purpose of arresting the man early at his home with annarrest and search warrant if the same police preferred no charges? I am really confuse, or do we perhaps have two different police forces that act independent from each other? Ok. I can see how what he allegedly said may have been offensive. However, I understand his frustration. We are talking about people who had to run from their own country only to be rescued by ours, to now feel that they are somehow entitled to decide who the leaders of our country are going to be. 1: Who issued the warrant for his arrest?
For a warrant to be issued for whatever reason, there must be reasonable grounds that a crime was committed to issue such.
2: If the warrant was for incitement why was his premises searched?
Incitement was due to a statement he made or an action performed which have nothing to do with his premises.
3: Since Mr. Linton was not charged, could it be that the warrant was issued on a false premise or misleading information? It appears that they were rash in making the arrest.
I honestly believe these guys know they on their way out and want to intimidate voters.

DNO when a person committs an offence he can be arrested and charged for that offence.The person cannot be arrested without committing an offence.BRIAN LINTON was brought in for qestioning,he was not ARRESTED.The Police can detain a person for questioning for 72 hours.If he is not charged within 72 hours he is released If he is charged he is then ARRESTED,the charge is read to him.He is then cautioned.THAT IS THE LAW.DNO as usual FAKE NEWS.
being detained is a form of being arrested but in order to keep holding a person beyond a certain hours you would have to charge them.
