UPDATE: Robbery at Texaco gas station

The police are soliciting the assistance of the public with their investigation into a robbery which occurred at the Texaco Petrol Station operated by Valley Engineering on Goodwill Road.

In a release, the police say that members of the Criminal Investigations Department are conducting investigations into the robbery which occurred at about about 11:15 am on December 27, 2012 and are asking the public to call 1-800-Hint to provide any information with regards to this crime or any other crime.

A reliable source told Dominica News Online earlier that at the time of the robbery, the attendant on duty was outside  serving a customer when she noticed that someone had entered the office.

According to our source, the attendant followed, in an effort to assist that person and instead encountered  a man wearing a cap and pointing a gun at her face. She said  the robber demanded money and made off with approximately $1400 which he took from the cash register and her bag.

We were told that police arrived on the scene within minutes.

Not another gas station robbery. Its about time that the pump owners employ security guards for the safe keeping of their takings and also the workers. They must be thinking because it happens to one it wornt happen to them. When I read what’s happening back home it’s just a shame that it start to turn into a no-go-zone.

They don’t need security guards! Put the attendants behind bullet proof glass and let them operate the pumps remotely. Let the people pay through a window and pump their own darn gas!

wow, time has really changed. Sweet and peaceful Dominica is turning into the wild wild west. Time for some gun laws. Two yrs ago, you hardly even heard someone shoplifting, much less using a gun. Its crazy. It’s too much crime now

Time for people to fill up their own gas now. Put secure barriers for staff and people full their own gas. Seems everyone have guns these days

Well when you mixed politics with polices then this is the end result. The top cop is more interested in cleaning up the department while forgetting about enforcement. He needs to focus on both. But just ask pirate about the days when seagal, kk, betrand, jeanpierre were out there, the criminals knews there were cops on them.
