UPDATE: (More Photos) UWP anniversary rally at Londonderry

UWP Londonderry 2Hundreds of United Workers Party (UWP) supporters assembled at the Londonderry playing field  Sunday afternoon in what political leader, Lennox Linton, earlier described as “a defining event in the political history of Dominica.”

The UWP is celebrating 25 years as a political party in Dominica.

Party followers have so far heard solidarity messages delivered by candidates from a number of constituencies and addresses from retired political leader, Edison James, and deputy leader, Claudius Sanford.

At the time of publication, political leader, Lennox Linton was addressing the rally.

The photos in this article were taken at various stages of the event between 4 p.m  and 7 p.m today.

I have never lost a bet, never. My bet is on the Blues. Skerritt don’t stand a China Chance. He is on his way out. Way way way out. The Blue waters will put out his Red fire.

Lets say by some divine intervention the UWP wins the election who would they turn to for aid to help the struggling people of Dominica?. Will they be reaching out to Taiwan once again? or would they butter up to China since so far they have the best economy? I know they can’t turn to the US,Canada or the United Kingdom so who on earth are they going to align with to help us. This is the question people need to be asking.
I have heard all these empty promises before.
Everyone claims they can do better when they want your vote but when they get in there is every man for himself and his goons.Dominica is not the only one in this situation. This economic crisis is worldwide. Our people wanted to live like Americans above their means and now that the American house of cards came tumbling down and they are feeling the effects they want to blame it on Skeritt. No one wants to till the ground any more or go to the sea to catch some fish, they rather go to KFC ad by 10 pieces of chicken for $50.

Instead of a banana or an orange for snack they rather eat potato chips and corn curls. No wonder the obesity rate is so high in the country. They cry every day about things so hard yet they get free education but instead of making good use of it they get pregnant and the young men turn to drugs.

Stop putting all the blame on Skeritts’s shoulder. Our people have to take responsibility for their own actions. Regardless of who wins an election Government can’t do it alone no matter who promises what. Remember what Uwp did when they were in power. There maybe a few new faces but their motto will be the same. REVENGE!!! To conquer and destroy.
Linton is Edison James in sheep’s clothing. Remember always. NOT ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD.

    October 1, 2013

well skerro strategy: is that the he will prolong the announcement of elections, force UWP to spend all thier little resources, and he will spend 25 million to buy his way back into Government over a month period. The problem is people have discovered who he really is, a man facinated by dictators, drunk with power, hungry for personal wealth, keeping people poor so that they will always beg him for bread, so he remains king but; He is about to be discarded, not only by workers but by Dominicans from all walks of life, who knows that enough is enough.

Skerro you can do what you want! your day for justice to be served you is drawing nigh…..

“Pride comes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall”. They can bring down the Chinese army to help them guard the house of assembly. The writing is on the wall that Skerrit and his gang has been weighed in the balance and been found wanting. They are self destructing and will not be able to stop it.

  11. September 30, 2013

are the workers supporters blind or something…dominica is so much better than it was befoe, skerrit built a stadium, night landing airport, state college, west coast highway and plus many more roads around the island, he sent allu children to study under scholarships! Skerrit brought change to this country, the UWP does not like china and venezuela, there only friend is taiwan, when UWP was in power taiwan gave them a prone farm. What can a prone farm to for us? Now when labour came in power they made relations with china and they gave us proper infrastructure that can come close to prone farms. The UWP loves to sho off their stupid ways, Lennox just blasting his mouth on radio and they put him as leaderm but claudius sanford and ronney isidore just to name a few have been working their backsides off for the UWP for how many years but they still did not put one of them in power, but they put a guy tht never went up for elections, does not have a seat in parliament and has no qualifications to be leader of the party…this party is not ready yet, vote DLP!

We all know that the labour supporters always follow their rallies but we know the obvious reasons. Their children needs a scholarship, they want to secure their red clinic status JUST to name a few. But when you see that massive BLUE crowd you know that something is happening and mark you there are so many people who are afraid of showing their faces for FEAR of victimization. IS PASTOR RANDY RODNEY PREACHING THE GOSPEL ACCORDING THE DOCTRINE OF EDDISON JAMES

Is Pastor Rodney as one of the lords anointed getting involved in worldly things, isn’t he afraid that Lennox Linton as his policy is to remove the ointment from his anointment as he had threatened to do to his colleague Evangelist Peter R. Augustine?

Did Pastor Rodney support the office of the president when Lennox Linton was accusing the President falsely for Corruption?

When Lennox Linton Called the President a “black Dominican breed and bread Country Bookie from Grand Bay”; did we hear Pastor Rodney?

When the UWP requested the President to take action in matters he had no Power and then accused him of being bias where was Pastor Rodney?

When Lennox Linton threatened to remove the ointment from Evangelist Peter Augustine’s anointment, we heard not a word from Pastor Rodney.

Why should Pastor Rodney now find it convenient to seek to claim that he is defending the office of the president over a non issue? “Pastor Randy Rodney said the prayers are against the fact that a president is being nominated coming straight from the political platform.” Is he preaching the gospel according to the Eddison James doctrine which stated in 1996 that a Minister of government must seek a period of cleansing from leaving Politics before he can go to the bench?

After all may be Lennox Linton believes in the Eddison James Doctrine and will spear Pastor Randy the ointment of his anointment. So why should Pastor Rodney under the cloak of spiritual edification make this sweeping statement “While the government can do what the government wants to do, God always overrule whatever man decides to do,” “So I am asking people to petition God.”
Pastor Randy, I reverently submit that your teachings according the doctrines of Eddison James has nothing to do with the Doctrine of Christ which is “render to “Savarin” the things that are “Savarin” and to God the things of God.

I am in no position to remove the ointment from your anointment but I would admonish you to seek the face of God and call on the people of the land to repent from their sins and turn from their wicked ways; Rumour mongering, Disrespect for those in authority, Hatred, Bearing false witness, jealousy, envy, corruption in Government and in opposition so that God will forgive them of their sins and heal the land.

Pastor Randy this is the Gospel of the Bible and that is what I expected to hear from the anointed one not the polemics I heard coming from your pulpit.

It is very constitutional for a Minister to go straight to the Presidency from the Cabinet.
Barrack Obama came from the Senate to Presidency.
Barrack Obama was considered a far left Liberal Democrat another word for very, very partisan politician. He has to work with both houses of Congress.

All our previous Presidents had their political preferences; Charles Savarin likewise has and is entitled to his political preference and our future Presidents will have and shall be entitled to their political preferences.

Like when we are about to participate in the Blessed Sacrament they are not worthy but only say the word and they shall be made whole. Amen.

If we continue that trend of playing politics with everything in Dominica, see how far we will go. All political parties have the pros and cons, so to me they are all the same. I do not follow any party, i listen to what both of them have to say and I only I will know what my vote will be. I am not playing politics or supporting anyone for what i think they can or will give me. I will supoort you if i figure or see you are willing and ready to do things to help the COUNTRY (Dominica) and not a certain group of individuals. Both of the top parties are guilty of doing just that. Please Dominicans. listen to both parties before you vote. don’t vote because the pm gave you something or because somebody said the government was in boball. Listen, Listen, Listen and then make up ypur minds.

Hundreds of United Workers Party (UWP) supporters assembled at the Londonderry playing field Sunday afternoon in what political leader, Lennox Linton, earlier described as “a defining event in the political history of Dominica.”

    That shoud read thousands DNO

You are right. I don’;t know , who was counting but I passed there yesterday afternoon and you could not move and got stuck in the traffic for a long, long tiome. That mass of people certainly wss not in the hundreds but more like thousands. I was really amazed by that turnout.

And that is just the unafraid ones…what about the number of civil servants who are fed up of the mess Skerrit is doing, but are afraid of victimization, etc and cannot show their true colour?… Look I hearing election must be called before Feb 2014, as IMF wants Skerro to cut down the police force and nurse by Feb…he has to do it but afraid to do so before election…

what change can Linton bring to the table for Dominican? As a young lady i will not be fool not by Lennox or anyone else. If Linton refuse to say hello to people today, will he say it tomorrow. To the people of Tarrish pit, Gutter Village, Fond Cole, Yam Piece and Stock Farm please remember when we were in need of help or assistance for our children we got it and remember who helped us is Lennox going to give us that assistance now. When thieves broke open houses Morne Daniel we the people of these areas were looked down on will Lennox look at us differently now, for a vote yes and that’s all it will be.

Even Portsmouth is blue now! Glanvilia and Lagoon want to teach Skeritt a lesson for Disrespecting them!
They have done their research and found out that the land Skeritt is saying has to be put aside for commercial development belongs to the Kingpins of corruption including the King Himself and His Crazy Jester!
Ian Douglas has a small window of opportunity which is about to close! He seems to be indecisive as to where His Loyalty lies.He is torn between the Devil and the Deep Blue Regime of change!

      September 29, 2013

The thing about DLP rally is, most of their people and others will turn out because they are afraid to be labelled as a UWPite which would automatically cause their name to be crossed out from the red clinic and victimization at the work place. On the contrary, the brave thousands of UWPites here are not afraid of anything. But don’t fool yourself, there are many people in the Skerrit crowds and those sing for their supper that will not vote Skerrit come election day,
