The United Workers Party (UWP) moves to Bellevue Chopin this evening as it continues to declare, at constituency level, its candidates for the next general election.
Rosana Emmanuel will be in the spotlight tonight when the UWP presents her as its candidate for the Petite Savanne Constituency.
Emmanuel was employed at Ross University for eleven and a half years and held the position of Director for Clinical and Community Affairs.
She holds a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.
Emmanuel will running in Petite Savanne, against another woman, DLP new-comer Marva Williams.
The UWP declaration event will be held from 7:00 pm at Bellevue Chopin.

Skerrit and the DLP knows they have failed us after 20 years but to cover their failure, Skerrit ran in front and fired 8 ministers and 5 candidates, some of whom had not even contested an election. But Skerrit should have fired all of them, including himself because as PM and Finance Minister the failures start with him. But We understand why he couldn’t fire himself, Ian, Reggie, and Blackmoore is because they know they need to be in hiding and the best place to hide is in a government office that gives them a Diplomatic passport. How could a government allow a 40 year old business like Ross to go and say nothing? Not even in the US a president would survive far less a third world country. But they had to force Ross out because Ross was in their way just as a criminal on the run would do anything to remove upstacles in their way. To give them 5 more years would only help them hide themselves better and deeper, while Dominica plunges deeper and deeper in hell. We need them out
We need to get them out by all means possible and I am happy that good quality candidates are answering the call because it is a curse on any nation when more Nationals have to form a line to see the pm than those that going to work. According to the Bible, poverty is a curse, bribery is a curse, begging is a curse and lying is as bad as stealing because when you lie you must do something worse to cover the lie. Any government that supports or encourages any of the above is a servant of Satan and sure not servants of Jehovah God. The very first responsibility God gave man was work. Before he gave Adam a wife he put him in the garden to take care of it. When a government takes away work from it’s people that government has painted and designed a very poor, bad, sickly and destructive future for it’s citizens.
UWP has 21 candidates going up against the 21 candidates of the DLP. The UWP is Running on “Real Change” while the DLP is running on “No change is needed”. Now I want us to behave as a mature, resilient and educated people and stop that mapwee thing. So DNO here is my proposal to the Election committee and the Media houses:
1. Before we vote please arrange at least 21 debates nation wide, where each candidate debates their opponent in their constituency on real issues. In that debate I want to hear each other talk about why they running, how much they were paid to run and their plan for their constituencies.
2. Before we vote We need to have at least 2 debates between our leaders and an opportunity for leaders to take questions from voters
3. Before we vote we need a debate between the two deputy leaders and a session for voters to question them.
It’s time to show the world that we are a mature and educated people that are really resilient. So lets get going
The million dollar question that must be asked here is, How is Lennox linton and the UWP able to attract these very good and highly qualified candidates for FREE? Let’s not spin around it because this thing is as simple as 1,2,3 or ABC. Look, we have two parties in this race: 1. The incumbent DLP with 16 seats, an election budget of millions and millions of dollars, to buy candidates that are available on the market, and a leader that is willing to pay any price just to keep him protected. 2. The opposition UWP with 5 seats (excluding Judas Iscariot), no money and a leader they say that did not graduate from high school. Yet, it is the UWP that is able to go to Vieille case, Cottage, Calibishie, Salybia, Grand Fond, Castle Bruce, La Plane, Grand Bay, Soufriere and now Petite Savanne constituencies and able to attract the very best candidates, for FREE man. Not only that but almost all of these new candidates were at one time deeply involved and supported the DLP. What does that say?

At a time when Skerrit has so much money paying candidates large sums of money to run for him, Rosanna showing the cost of delivering Dominica for FREE, is worth more than the millions of Skerrit? If you feel Linton is worse than Skerrit, why not put out a list where Lennox performance was worse than Skerrit? By this I mean, show where Linton was fired on every job he ever held because of poor performance. So far, though I am still RED and not a friend of LInton though I will vote UWP next election, what I have seen from Linton is that of success. UWP looked like another dead party that could not attract a fly until Lennox Linton became the leader and he increased their seat in Parliament from 3 to 6 and really should have been by at least 9, if our elections were fair. When one closely exams the sordid and substandard performance and record of the current regime, it boggles the mind that there are people who still support this administration. The astronomically high rate of poverty, unemployment and under employment should give all cause for pause. The numerous incidents of corruption should rock the conscience of the nation. The selfishness and greed of the leader, ministers and their enablers is disqualifying. In no other jurisdiction in the Caribbean would this government be in power.
