VIDEO: WAVE’s World Rivers Day message 2021 – Our water is our future

Today, 26 September 2021 is being observed as United Nations World Rivers Day.

Every year on the fourth Sunday of September, World Rivers Day is observed to raise awareness with regard to waterways and to promote their conservation.

Today, rivers face a massive challenge posed by climate change and global warming. World Rivers Day also highlights the many values of rivers and encourages the improved stewardship of rivers around the world.

In Dominica,  environmental group, The Waitukubuli Advocates for a Viable Environment (WAVE) as part of its observation of World Rivers Day has produced and presented this video documentary on the status of the rivers in Dominica.

Kudos to WAVE for creating this very informative and enlightening video and much respect for the work that they are doing in the drive to clean up and preserve the rivers of the lovely nature isle. This is an amazing effort and great to see it published here.

Water is already more expensive than oil. Think I’m joking? Calculate the price of a gallon of bottled water. Time is long overdue to treat the resources accordingly.

This is a very enlightening documentary. Kudos to the people who are making a strenuous effort to try to keep the rivers in pristine conditions.

Water is essential for life. No water, no life. Dominicans should do everything humanly possible to preserve the waterways for generations yet inborn.

Never take the rivers for granted. Some countries have gone to war over water. May the streams keep flowing in all their glory from the highest mountains to the furthest seas.
