Waitufit 360 celebrates one year since its official launch in 2022. A simple gathering that began during the Covid era blossomed into a home for dozens of women and families to find more balance in their everyday life. Since its inception, the club’s executives have upheld its mandate to encourage mobility through dance therapy and have also created a social space for men and women to decompress and distress.
Waitufit 360 has embraced the vision of mind, body, and soul wellness.
The aim of the organization is to effect positive changes in its members, making healthy living a holistic practice.
During their anniversary week of activities, they launched their first-ever Kiddies Cardio dance party which was reportedly a huge success. Children from the ages of 2 to 10 joined in at the Botanical Gardens Gazebo for a fun-filled session.
“Our children are becoming very inactive as they are usually hypnotized by those electronic devices”, says a club member.
“We need to get them active again, get their heart rates up, and provide them with the right stimulation necessary for healthy development. We also encouraged the parents, godparents, and aunties to join in and make their little ones feel special.”
Another initiative launched by the Waitufit team was a special visit to the elderly and folks at the Dominica Infirmary, where food baskets were presented followed by a dance with the residents, whose faces lit up with gratitude.
According to the President, the club’s intention is to include the entire family on the journey of health and wellness.
A few of the club’s major events on the horizon for 2023:
Waitufits’ 2nd annual Family Sports Day, carded for May 7
Health and Wellness Dance Tour 2023, to be held on August 5
The club’s annual New Year’s Gala, December 30
