Heavy rains, gusty winds and thunderstorms are expected in Dominica as a trough system affects the island.
The Dominica Meteorological Service said it has been monitoring the system which is presently resulting in unstable weather conditions across the area resulting in cloudiness and a few light showers across the island today (Tuesday).
It said cloudiness will be maintained, however, an increase in shower activity with the possibility of thunderstorms can be expected during the next 24 hours, especially during tonight into tomorrow morning.
Showers could become heavy at times with gusty winds and rainfall values could exceed two inches especially in higher elevation.
The Dominica Meteorological Service, therefore, is advising persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks to be vigilant and to exercise caution.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and to bring you the necessary updates,” the Met Service said. “Please remember that we are still in the hurricane season and one can visit our website at www. weather.gov.dm or call the weather hotline at 4475555 for more information.”

Well, not quite. Every one knows November is prone to hurricanes. We hope there will be none for the rest of November.
Keep safe fellow Dominicans. God bless and protect!
