Dominicans are being advised to get prepared for moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorm activity and gusty winds which may hit the island tonight into Thursday.
This as a depression, which was expected to approach the island, has degenerated into a tropical wave.
According to an advisory by the National Hurricane center at 11:00 am, the center of the remnants of tropical depression two was located near latitude 14.0 north…longitude 56.0 west or about 365 miles or 590 km east south east of the Lesser Antilles.
The remnants are moving quickly westward at 25 MPH…41 KM/H and the system should move through the Lesser Antilles this evening.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 MPH…55KM/H with higher gusts.
This system is expected to continue to weaken over the next day.
