Below is the latest weather outlook for Dominica issued by the Met Office at 11.00 am on Friday August 19, 2016.
A tropical wave located about 2140 miles or 3445 km east of the LesserAntilles is producing an area of disorganized cloudiness and shower activity. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development and a tropical depression could form early next week while the system moves westward at about 15 mph across the tropical Atlantic Ocean.

* Formation chance through 5 days…medium…50 percent
Model analysis and guidance indicates that further development is expected and this system is expected to approach the Lesser Antilles by next week Wednesday.
The Dominica Meteorological Service will continue to provide updates on the progress of this system and also advises residents in Dominica to monitor the progress of this system.
