A Tropical Storm WATCH remains in effect for Dominica on Friday morning due to the presence of Tropical Storm Harvey in the area.
A Tropical Storm Watch means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area, in this case within 24-36 hours.
At 5:00 am on Friday, Tropical Storm Harvey was located near 13.1 North, 59.1 West or about 200 miles southeast of Dominica.
Tropical Storm Harvey will continue to generate cloudiness, shower and thunderstorm activity and winds gusting up to tropical storm strength across the Windwards today.
On the forecast track, Harvey should move through the Windward Islands and into the eastern Caribbean Sea later today.
Persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are advised to be extremely vigilant and to exercise caution as flash flooding and winds gusting to tropical storm force are possible during today and tonight.
Interests in Dominica and the Lesser Antilles should continue to monitor the progress of this system.
Moderate to rough seas are expected during today with seas peaking near 12.0 feet.
A Small craft warning is in effect for rough seas and high winds. All users of the sea are advised to exercise caution and do not venture far from port.
