Wesley man gets bail on rape charge

Affordable-Bail-BondsA Wesley man, who was among three men arrested for the alleged rape and robbery of a French teenager at Batibou was granted bail in the sum of $35,000 with one surety.

The incident occurred on Valentine’s Day 2012 when three masked men dressed in camouflage outfits attacked a French family, tied them up and sexually assaulted the young lady.

The family was reportedly released hours later. Money and a camera were also reportedly stolen during the incident.

Among his bail conditions, the man is to reside at Wesley with his mother and should report to the police station in Wesley every day between 5 am and 6 pm.

He is to also surrender all his travel documents, not to reside where witnesses live and refrain from interfering with them.

The accused is also prohibited from going to tourist sites until the matter is completed and is also prohibited from being  within 120 feet from any point of entry and exit in Dominica.

Is that the response the court can give to the tourist things need to change why why would you grant bail to a criminal who have no recpect for people he should be in jail drinking his water with bread thats why Dominica have so many criminals we need FOLLOW back in the court things are back to front

“So now you saying your cousin might be involved in a murder but you need more proof. Since you so smart why don’t you asked your cousin about the murder.”(Tony).

The above quote is simply another display of the silly Dominican mentality; the distortion of the truth; the words above are yours, and yours only. I never said my cousin, or in fact Vaughn Dods, is, or was involved in any murder, if you quoted me verbatim, I would not have a problem: quote me as saying they try to impress upon me that Vaughn was responsible for the murder of my nephew, his cousin okay!

I continue to say ” what they did not tell me is that when my nephew was found murdered, Vaughn was locked up in jail!”

I know that I make plenty of errors when I write, leaving a few words out here and there, and write some fragmented sentences, however, though not a linguistic major, and not a master of the English language, I believe I express myself efficiently in the English language so that even you should be able to understand.

Note: I speak Spanish and German too, however patios I do not understand, I did not write in patios, so there is no reason for you quote me saying something I have not said!

If you wish to establish yourself as a liar, the way is clear to you; do proceed; and believe it or not some of the crimes committed in Wesley, and Dominica in general, some rouge police are in involved, wait and see, time will prove me correct, it’s only a matter of time!

Hello my people. It’s very troubling that this criminal was released on bail and such low bail. My position is that the following crimes should not be bail able crimes, Murder, Rape, Shootings,Kidnapping, Aggravated Sexual Abuse and Sodomy. Now we must lobby our Politicians to change the laws so we don’t have such perpetrators on our streets to continue to abuse our citizens.

This is so disgusting. I do not see what conditions could justify this SICK creature getting bail. Report everyday to the police station from 5.00am to 6.00pm? Prohibited from tourist sites? Will his photo be posted so the law enforcers can be alerted??? 120 feet from any port of entry and exit in Dominica? Are these entry points limited???? I am disgusted!!!What a shame!!

This Bail thing in Dominica is a big joke.Criminals on bail are ask to report to the nearest plice station, couple weeks down the line the offender stop reporting to the police and case never get called, if it does evidense disappear, the justice system in my country is helping criminals to get away with serious crimes on a daily basis. What has education done for Dominicans the more degree student we produce the more foolishness coming out of the system. Dominica needs HELP is there any one able to assist our backward government.

    • March 7, 2013

Hello, just make me a judge in Dominica and I will make you all proud. Anyone who appear in my Courtroom on such serious charges will not get bail, period. I will order that the Department of Correction keep them in solitary confinement until their trial is over.

    March 6, 2013

When this story was first published, the names of the three young men that were accused of the crimes were published, everyone knew who they were, now that bail is issued to one of them we get an understanding of the law that their names cannot be published because of the nature of their crimes, I just dont get it…. we we know it is between the two younger ones because the older one’s mother is dead.

    • March 6, 2013

Since your mum is a night prowler, she might have more information than I have, as a matter of fact she might be involved in many of the unsolved crimes in the village; ask her about them, because I do not know!

When I grew up in Wesley, there were no scum of the earth in our village, we went to school, we learn, we went to the movies, however, we did not adapt nor patronized the garbage we saw on the silver screen; we knew what we saw was simply a play designed only for entertainment, and not a tool for teaching how to kill, steal nor rape.

You people in Wesley are so dumb, you see someone in the movies smile or talk a certain way, after the movie is over you go outside and try to smile and talk like the actor, how stupid!

Over the years idiots like you without a name goes to the movies, or watch Television, and what see; you believe that it is something in the natural people do; hence, you go home and act upon what you see in a play, you get up, and go out and kill people for no absolute reason than your dumb mind believe what you saw in the movies are all natural, and it is okay to play criminal, thus harming innocent people in the process.

Proof of that is “Timothy” he stabbed his victim in his abdomen, the fool went to court and told the judge ” I simply hugged him, and prick him with my knife; I doe take no chances.”

The fool I am sure went to see some old mafia movie where it is common to see such act, so that made him a Wesley mafia; so he cresses his victim and stab him in his belly (abdomen).

I am not an idiot, and I do not appreciate anyone lesser than I am trying to make a fool out of me; if you notice everything I write is actually intellectual, I do not have any time for crap!

So, if you wish to play, perhaps you should buy yourself a toy; or as usually beg somebody for one.

There are people in Wesley who knows who the murderers, thieves, and garbage people are: They they know when these scum bags are committing the crimes, they sit on their behind with the information refusing to inform the police!

You people are a bunch of sick people, your minds are wounded, you are like poppet’s allowing criminals to rule and trample over you. You talk about Vaughn Dods, he is my cousin, his grandfather the late Andrew Dods (Dodds) is my uncle; Yvonne Dods his sister the late is my mother.

I do not know that Vaughn committed any crime in Wesley: what I do know is that every crime for which he was charged, he was exonerated, he was not found guilty of a single one.

There are some who impressed on me that he is responsible for the murder of my nephew, his cousin, however, what they fail to tell me is that at the time of my nephews murder, Vaughn Dods was locked up in jail; if you have information which can prove that he committed any of the crimes in question, and not give your information to the police, I say you are a fool!

      • March 7, 2013

Good morning Mr Telemaque. I see we making some progress because you haven’t accused our Police and Politicians of committing all the murders in Wesley . So now you saying your cousin might be involved in a murder but you need more proof. Since you so smart why don’t you asked your cousin about the murder. I think your cousin have been trampling over you and our criminal justice system. Anyway you think you are the smartest person born in Dominica but you must think about the words you used and you must look into the mirrow. Thanks.

    • March 7, 2013

Hi, where Vaughn Dobbs migrated to. I hope it’s not NY or NJ.

Mr Telemaque will tell us it’s the Police and our Politicians that’s committing all the crimes in Wesley. Let us wait and read his post.

They robbed the people, they still want to rape the person child. As far as I am concerned it doesn’t matter who did the rape they all should have the same punishment because you know one will always say “is not me is so and so, all I do was take the camera” All should suffer because there should be no robbery much-less for rape. All of them are nasty and rapist together.

And you give this monster bail?

If I was foreign visitor … I going to other place. Is it safer? Probably not, but at least the judiciary give a cr*p.

  19. March 6, 2013

I keep hearing and reading so many strange things going down in little DA.
I feel everyone,on island, can step up and need to step up,to take down that evil that’s going on in the country.
When I raised as a child or little boy down there. The accused would not leave stockfarm until the matter is heard in the courts, and the final verdict handed down.
Guilty..he’s taken right back to stockfarm.
Not guilty…he’s free to hit the road.
But the kind of craziness that I’m hearing and reading about.Truely,I’m lost for words
What is needed is a few Martin Lutherkings down there.
Put aside relegion, politics, sports etc.and everyone take to the streets.Young, old, rich, poor
    and excercise your rights.
Stop blaming the government and the police and oneanother.
Take to the streets every day(peacefully)..not today, then stop and resume two years down the road.
But every day until the officials(the very ones that are being blamed and nothing is happening)get the message, that the nonsence which is going on will not be tolerated as a nation.
Unity is power.Stop complaining, come together as a nation and demand that the laws be changed and or strengthen where need be.
Complaining does not always do it.Action sometimes has to be brought in to get the job done.
And do not forget to pray also,I know there are some that are already doing that.
    GOD BLESS

      • March 5, 2013

Dorival boy, this time idiot Francisco Telemaque will not fight you one bit for the true remarks you made here!

Sometimes I shiver when I read the sort of nonsense some people writes. I will continue to argue a computer, or a smart phone cannot make anyone smart; if one lack the basic as in scholastic education, there is no way a computer, or telephone will change that.

Someone went out of their way to critique DNO for not disclosing the name of the criminal from Wesley who is involved in the rape; I too would like to know his name.

That to me is a simple matter in comparison to the nine women who allowed one who violated a court restraining order, entering into the victims home and assaulting her, and then some idiot went on DNO and ask this stupid question ” did he touch her?”

Notice in the case of the Wesley culprit on granting bail, one of the conditions is that the criminal cannot go within 120 feet of any port of entry, or exist, in the event he violates that order, he is subject to have his bail revoked, and put back in jail.

It is the same darn thing as the restraining order the woman had against Lestrad, if you read my comments on that you may remember I said if Lestrad had simply stood on the sidewalk next to the lady’s house he violated the order. He should be in jail right now.

So for those nine women to let him walk simply exposes how dumb some of our people are, and that we should be ashamed about that sort of incompetents among that nine woman jury is something all Dominicans should be ashamed!

Their conduct rise the question in my mind; which one or how many of them received the brown paper from under the table to set that guy free

Well, the problem is with the law, then. I can understand not releasing the name of a juvenile, but not an adult. This is ridiculous. Why release all the criminal element in one small village all at once. Look like the judicial system in Dominica is conspiring against Wesley! Come on, a rapist and a killer in one day! Really?????

    • March 5, 2013

“This is ridiculous. Why release all the criminal element in one small village all at once.”(Wesley Woman).

Wesley woman whereas you find it ridiculous that all criminal elements are released in the small village of Wesley, I find it even more ridiculous that you would ask a stupid question like that. If someone is a resident, or native of Wesley; wether that person was born in the village, or immigrated to Wesley, and commits a crime whiles residing in Wesley, the person was arrested, and bail granted, where should that person go when they are released on bond?

Commonsense would dictate they would be excepted to return to the place where they reside previously, the house in which they lived prior to their arrest!

I am going to make this an issue; indeed Wesley is a very village, there very few people in the village who are not related to each other, yet many have died; murdered by people I assume are still walking the muddy, clay roads of Wesley. One of the murdered is my nephew, the son of my sister Marie Leslie, people like Claudette my girlfriend whom I used to have so much fun with whenever, I returned home; killed, found dead with her neck broken; because she fired up a few drinks sometimes, people in the village claimed that she was drunk, and fell and broke her neck.

Nonsense, where she was found I played there as kid, in the dark long before there were street light in Wesley, fell backwards, and forward, still surviving without a broken neck.

What about the kid who took responsibility for the killing of my nephew, he was the son of Aribella Robin, daughter of my late step father the later Hilburn Robin.

Remember that kid was also found with his throat slashed in the same way that my nephews throat was slashed. I am confident that there are people in our village who knows who the murderers are, yet they remain silent.

The people of Wesley are guilty for all the unsolved crimes which has taken in Wesley over the years.

I understand there is a certain young lady in the village who sold plenty of drugs, and by the way I will not say who, but as far as I know her blood runs in my veins too, but I was told each time the police would show up with a search warrant, no drugs would be found on her, or her place of business.

      You know why?

Because someone, a nasty rouge police would tip her off and let her know when the police would be coming to her place to conduct the search. I understand she has since cleaned up her act, which is good; but unless the people of the village corporate with the police and inform on these criminals, so that they can be captured, and brought to justice for their crime; say I told you: ” you ain’t see nothing yet.”

It is going to get worst, the worst is yet to come!

Every living person in Wesley is responsible for the filth which has overwhelm our once pristine, and peaceful village. Withholding information from the police which could be used to apprehend the criminals encourages them to commit more crime, if they know that the village people will not protect them that could serve as a deterrent.
