Windwards U19 cricket competition to be held in Dominica from tomorrow

After three years without a Windward Islands U19 competition, the Under 19 Winlott Inc/Windward Island Cricket Board Tournament will begin tomorrow, July 5th, 2022, in Dominica.

The matches will be played at two venues.

Defending champions St Vincent & the Grenadines will play host country, Dominica, at Windsor Park Sports Stadium from 9:30 a.m. and St Lucia will meet Grenada at Benjamin’s Park.

The competition was played before in a 50-over format, but this year’s tournament will be played over two days.

Dominica’s team will be captained by Stephan Pascal. Other players include Yawani Registe – Vice Captain , Jahson Vidal, Jaiden Joseph, Jelani Joseph, Tyrese Leblanc, Joel Durand, Morell Burton, Sherquan Toussaint, Lluvio Charles, Kyron Phillip, Yazee Graneau and Edmund Morancie. The reserve players are Shakeen Thomas, Kishawn Viville and Darin Toussaint.

Sam Kirnon is the team’s coach, Fernix Thomas is the technical director and Kevin James serves as the manager.
