Acting Festivals and Event Manager at the Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC), Samantha Letang has announced that works are ongoing at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium for the staging of the 22nd Edition of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) scheduled for October 28-30, 2022.
She made the announcement during a press briefing held on Wednesday.
According to Letang the WCMF which forms part of Dominica’s 44th Anniversary of Independence is the most sought-after event in the Caribbean region.
“The WCMF is truly a brand of its own, bringing to Dominica thousands of visitors from the region and internationally,” she said. “As you can see works are ongoing at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in preparation for the event.”
She said also that vendors and service providers are being trained to ensure safety, “and all other works are currently being done in an effort to bring to the public an experience of a lifetime right here in the Nature Island.”
Visitors and Dominicans alike are being encouraged to try to remember that Dominica is the Nature Island of the Caribbean, “and we implore you to continue keeping Dominica clean and green and of course to ensure this lasts for a lifetime.”
Instead of your critic go clean the beaches stop going on like is the end of the world help to keep our country clean
Anyway its time Dominicans put their FOOT down .It seems like on the vendors and service providers account WMCF PAYING BURNA BOY . To tell me that small bar …for all that money smh . 1500 free tickets plus giving away to the red players .
I would have been surprised if they had not taken this opportunity to influence even more people to vote for this rotten government in the future.
Unfortunately the architectural aesthetics of the “sports” stadium leave a lot to be desired and that you can’t do much about. It is set in concrete.
Please keep all the gun slingers and drug dealers under contro during the festival. By the way have you driven around our coast and beaches to see how dirty the place is? Every beach looks like a rubbish dump!
Amen brother, better still make boat trip along the west coast and see what a
stinking heap of ordure and junk our coast is. Disgraceful and a bad advertisement for our Nature Island.
Welcome to the Nature Island of the Caribbean! Piper looks for a new marketing slogan every 6 month and spends heaps of money promoting it, instead of cleaning the place up and make it look like the Nature Island. These people including that CM are utterly clueless. The only thing they are good at is selling passports and influence elections in their favour.
The beaches looking like garbage dumps the blame must be squarely placed at the feet of the citizens who have become unpatriotic litter bugs.
We have to be responsible when picnicking at the beaches. Take garbage bags with us. It’s full time we take responsibility for our irresponsible actions. I vehemently disagree with those who throw blame on the administration for our own undesirable/nasty habits.
Nicely said Ibo.
It has been a life long love for all of us from the islands, going for a little swim. But there is nothing nice about swimming with unsightly plastic items, or food on the beach as well. If it is one area DA need help, is the organizing of getting our beaches cleaned. Maybe that should start in each community as a Community Day Project!!!!
Mother Nature awaits. Jah bless. Asaka Grow me a Garden!!!!
isnt the word “work” both plural and singular? its works appropriate in english grammar?
they clearly dont know better
its like when they insist on saying equipments. And we boast about a literacy rate when clearly too many Dominicans need to go back to school.
