World Population Day 2018 (July 11) highlights family planning as a human right

World Population 2018 is being observed today with the theme: “Family Planning is a Human Right.”

World Population Day, which seeks to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues, was established by the then-Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 1989, an outgrowth of the interest generated by the Day of Five Billion, which was observed on July 11, 1987.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the 1968 International Conference on Human Rights, where family planning was, for the first time, globally affirmed to be a human right.

The conference’s outcome document, known as the Teheran Proclamation, stated unequivocally: “Parents have a basic human right to determine freely and responsibly the number and spacing of their children.”

Embedded in this legislative language was a game-changing realization: Women and girls have the right to avoid the exhaustion, depletion and danger of too many pregnancies, too close together.  Men and women have the right to choose when and how often to embrace parenthood — if at all.  Every individual has the human right to determine the direction and scope of his or her future in this fundamental way.

“I AM MINE OWN” you were on to something,i would have love you elaborating a little more. Since the coming doctrine of the modern NEW WORLD ORDER, hidden in the powers agenda was and is world population control, at the time of their doctrines initiation, half billion of the worlds population have to be exterminated in all forms, be it genocide, wars , emerging viruses e.g AIDS, EBOLA, added to that , we have the poisoned and processed foods that are presently used to control world population. We have come to comprehend, that human rights means different things to different people, e.g a terrorist could be a freedom fighter in another discourse. Human rights have been kicked around like a football, with the exception of Dominica, do we see human rights for the endogenous people conquered? Have the AFRICANS who build and continue to build the world as we know it , have they ever had human rights? TRUTH is one, but comes in many forms.
