Festivals and Event Manager, Samantha Letang

Festivals and Event Manager, Samantha Letang has announced that plans are in place for the staging of the 22nd Edition of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) scheduled for October 28-30, 2022.

She made the announcement during a recently held press conference.

“We are pleased to announce that all our plans are in place and we are beginning to execute everything for the World Creole Music Festival,” she said. “From all reports from our media and trade partners in the region, all eyes and ears are tuned in to Dominica for this Independence season and, of course, for the World Creole Music Festival.”

According to Letang, the Dominica Festivals Committee is pleased to see the participation of the private sector in putting on all events for the season, including cultural events, entertainment fetes, and the Ti Village Creole.

“We at the DFC continue to work and encourage all these events that are being promoted,” she stated.

Furthermore, she said the WCMF is an important brand for our festivities during this Independence season.

Meantime, Letang informed the public that the season tickets special is still on at $300, and tickets are available at DFC’s box offices,  Bullseye Pharmacy both in Roseau and Portsmouth as well as Depex Colour Lab in Roseau.

Nightly tickets are also being sold at $150 at Bullseye Pharmacy in Roseau and Portsmouth and Depex Colour Lab.

However, Letang reported that the VVIP and PVIP tickets are sold out.

I think it’s time Samantha took Piper’s job. She’s the only one in that sorry DDA mob making a difference.

Another Independence Anniversary is on us again. It should be a momentous occasion to celebrate. But, how many citizens can make merry?

How can one celebrate poverty, hunger, joblessness, brutality, victimization, filthiness, hopelessness, pain, anguish, decadence, empty promises, rigged elections, thievery, embezzlement, lawlessness, opacity, dishonesty, crudity, incompetence, political tribalism, environmental degradation, economic stagnation, widespread corruption, gross infrastructural underdevelopment, malnutrition, Chinese domination (re-colonization/re-enslavement), totalitarianism, prevalence of child sexual abuse, murders, starvation wages, ad hominem attacks from Roosevelt, Austrie and the lawless cabal, et cetera.

How can a people celebrate the upending of their lives by a destructive human category 5 hurricane?

Everyone closely associated with the oligarchy of Roosevelt paints a glorious picture of the future of Dominica. The projects and events coming out the pipeline are spectacularly gorgeous, nothing can compare. Unfortunately, these are just fantasies.

Realistically, Dominica is country of NO. NO international airport; NO modern cruise village; NO modern athletic stadium; NO public library; NO modern capital city; NO stimulus package; NO strategic economic plan; NO astute leadership.

When the inhabitants of a country remain timid and sheep-like they will be governed by wolves.
