PM Skerrit - will be the featured speaker at the launch<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Plans are underway to officially launch the Dominica Education Enhancement Project, funded by the Government of Dominica, with counterpart support of US$420,000 and a US$4M loan facility from the Caribbean Development Bank.
\nThis project, which is costing close to twelve million Eastern Caribbean Dollars seeks to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the educational system by enhancing the learning environment at primary and secondary schools.<\/p>\n

It is also geared upgrading the institutional framework and improving teacher quality.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnder the project a large number of teachers will receive training geared at augmenting competencies in key academic subjects and non-academic areas such as special education, guidance counselling, educational clinical psychology, early screening and diagnosis, multi-grade and differentiated teaching methods, numeracy instruction, educational assessment and curriculum implementation. The capacity of primary and secondary schools to deliver the curriculum will be strengthened through the development of curricula and the significant provision of tools, equipment and materials, particularly in the area of technical and vocational education and training,\u201d a press release states.<\/p>\n

The official launch will take place at 3:00 p.m. on the Terrace of Windsor Park Sports Stadium on Monday, 5th July, 2010.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit is expected to deliver the feature address.<\/p>\n
