Don\u2019t come and tell me this one is a drug dealer because he drives a nice vehicle. We know who they are. The police know who they are and the police need to be dealt with. The police officers who assist those criminals need to be dealt with,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Carrette, in dismissal of the magistrate&#8217;s statements, said \u201cBring the evidence forward and we will act accordingly. They can speak to me or someone they feel confident about and I am sure we will act &#8230; to say that the police is corrupt is strong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am not saying that all is well, we do have some police officers who have done things which have been caused to disciplinary action \u2026 we have also ways and means to deal with such persons and have always done so,\u201d Carrette said.<\/p>\n<p>Carrette also flatly denied suggestions that two police constables were suspended for providing security for an alleged drug kingpin. \u201cI have no information on that &#8230; I would have known and this is untrue as we speak,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Deputy Commissioner of Police Cyril Carrette has come to the defense of members of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) over comments leveled by Magistrate Tiyani Behanzin.
