The Dominican community is being advised to get prepared for the opportunities that will arise through the\u00a0 Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector.<\/p>\n

Parliamentary secretary in the office of the Prime Minister Kelver Darroux told Parliament during the budget debate that the sector will create several employment opportunities for Dominicans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithin the next three years, we will see coming on stream, several jobs within the sector. I speak of network administrators, software developers, database technicians and computer programmers…\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to Darroux, it is imperative that the people are ready for these jobs when they become available.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is why the ICT Department will work closely with the Ministry of Human Resource to ensure that when students are sent to study, that they won\u2019t just study Accounting and Business.
