Photo taken from New Dimenstion Theatre&#39;s Facebook page<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dominican and theatre lovers now have the opportunity to view a locally staged play at the homes.<\/p>\n<p>This is made possible by the recent launching of the first stage play on DVD &#8220;The House of Shingles&#8221; by the New Dimension Theatre.\u00a0 Not only is this event a major landmark, but more importantly it marked the beginning of a new direction, new focus for the New Dimension.<\/p>\n<p>According to the groups Artistic Director Steve Hyacinth the\u00a0 launching of this DVD is just the beginning as the group intends to produce\u00a0 a variety of educational, entertaining, humorous and high quality work for\u00a0 television purposes on a regular basis.<\/p>\n<p>The next major activity of the group is\u00a0 another performance of its intriguing and hilarious comedy \u201cYour Son My Husband\u201d\u00a0 at the Goodwill Primary School Auditorium on Monday 09, 2010 as part of the\u00a0 Goodwill Reunion Celebrations.\u00a0 Your Son My Husband written and directed by Steve Hyacinth takes a look at an estrange relationship between a mother and her daughter\u2013in-law . A young man (Johnny )\u00a0 is caught between the love of his mother (Ma Popo and the love of his wife (May) . To put it bluntly,\u00a0 Johnny marries a woman against the wishes of her choice.\u00a0 His mother, motivated by her ambitions, perception and dominant attitude\u00a0 is determined to go extraordinary lengths to break up the marriage. The young couple\u00a0 on the other hand, believes that marriage can be the most exciting fulfilling aspect of a person\u2019s life and they are determined to make it work.\u00a0 The play is\u00a0 swift moving, exciting, intriguing and hilarious.<\/p>\n<p>This will be the 15th performance of the play\u00a0 Your Son My Husband in Dominica. In addition, it has also been staged in Barbados, Trinidad, Antigua, St Lucia, Martinique, St. Maarten and at Carifesta X in Guyana before large and appreciative audiences. It is a must see performance. Once is never enough.<\/p>\n<p>Your Son My Husband features Donille Blackmore as Ma Popo, Harry Sealy as Franky, Minerve Lewis as May,\u00a0 Meritta Hyacinth as Angie, Al Mathurine as Johnny, Anthony Alexander as BO and Lloyd Benjamin as Mr Evans.<\/p>\n<p>The 16th performance of\u00a0 Your Son My Husband will in collaboration with the Goodwill Reunion Committee will held\u00a0 be held at\u00a0 the Goodwill Primary School Auditorium on\u00a0 Monday 09 August at 8:00pm.
