Persons wishing to obtain funding to further their studies at tertiary institutions will soon be able to access finances at lower costs through a special financial assistance package.<\/p>\n

The Government, through the Ministry of Education shall be making these packages available to students at a two percent interest rate.<\/p>\n

According to Minister of Public Works and Ports Rayburn Blackmoore on Kairi FM\u2019s Heng program this morning, this initiative comes as part of the Government\u2019s mandate to ensure that every household in Dominica has a university graduate.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I went to study my interest rate was about 10 percent. Now we realized a number of us including the prime minister who had to go and study and work hard to go to school … we want to ensure that every household in Dominica has a university graduate and that is why this Government supports this…\u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n

The minister also mentioned a new loan scheme which will be offered by the Agricultural Industrial & Development (AID) Bank from September, where a total of $10 million will be made available for ordinary persons to get funds to build their homes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Persons wishing to obtain funding to further their studies at tertiary institutions will soon be able to access finances at lower costs through a special financial assistance package.
