Minister Shillingford<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

While opinions differ for many on the opposition side, Minster for Social Services, Community Development and Gender Affairs Gloria Shillingford has said that the government is promoting a culture of self-reliance as oppose to dependency.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the opening of the 32nd Independence Celebrations on Saturday at the Old Mill Cultural Center, Shillingford stated that government is also stressing the importance of values such as unity volunteerism, and community spirit.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are saying that we will equip you with the means to advance yourself and provide support mechanisms to facilitate the achievement of your goals.<\/p>\n
