The word of the Lord is absolutely clear, blessed is the nation whose God, whose source, whose sovereign one, whose strength, whose reliance is the Lord God Almighty. So if it says blessed are those whose God is the Lord it means therefore if our nation’s God is not the Lord we are in deep trouble, we are cursed, or will be cursed.<\/p>\n
I want to take some time to reflect on a few statements that I have read in the media, issued at the opening of the new West Bridge and at the budget presentation and I really want us as a nation in light of the word of God quoted above, to ask ourselves, are we trying to challenge God and invite his righteous judgement over our nation?<\/p>\n
I recall the last time an article was written titled \u201c Satanism In Dominica\u201d there were varying comments and different shades of opinions. Some agreed that the existence of Satan is real and its foothold on Dominica is obvious. Others believe that Satanism exists only in the imagination of those who think it does.<\/p>\n
Statements that doubt the existence of Satan, is what he wants to hear from men whom he has under his hold and influence. Of course, the reason for this is simple: Men\u2019s ignorance about Satan\u2019s existence, assures him that his targets do not yet know about his operations and modus operandi and that his victims are paying no mind to what\u2019s going on around them.<\/p>\n
This is akin to the case of a cow being led into the slaughter slab, not realizing he is on the way to becoming meat. Such cows only react to the slaughter on when it is too late for a fight.<\/p>\n
Here are two statements made by the Honorable Prime Minister at the opening of the new bridge on May 1, 2017 \u201cSpeaking at the
\ncommissioning of the bridge on Monday, May 1, 2017 in Roseau, he stated that the new name must be able to \u201cimmortalize this chapter in our nation\u2019s page of history.\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued, \u201cVery soon, we shall make public the website to which each of you can go and suggest an appropriate name for this gateway.”<\/p>\n
I want to draw our attention to the two words which have been highlighted. Someone may say well what is wrong with this statement, these are just words, and that\u2019s true but words have power.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s why the Bible says in Proverbs 18. 21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit of therefore.\u201d<\/p>\n
So words have power but not just that, it is very important to not just assume what you think someone means by what they have said but to find the meaning.<\/p>\n
The word Immortalize means – to bestow unending fame upon; perpetuate, to make immortal.<\/p>\n
The gateway means \u2013 means of entry or access.<\/p>\n
Having looked up the meaning of these words raises serious questions in my mind and I want to bring to the attention of the general public those questions. Gateways are normally used when referring to Satanism, and they are the points of entry into nations, territories, and people.<\/p>\n
The question is if this is a gateway, to whom or what does it give access and what does it give access to? Is it demons, spirits,
\nevil entities???<\/p>\n
The question is why do we want to give unending fame to a bridge? For centuries we have built bridges across this nation and its
\nunderstandable, because of the number of rivers but what is so special about this one that it deserves a name and a special name and to be made to receive unending fame?<\/p>\n
When something is made immortal or referred to as immortal, this means it is not subject to death or destruction, it cannot perish or decay, forever.<\/p>\n
This is nothing but wholesale Idolatry, where as a nation we are all being called to render continuous praise and worship to a bridge. So once the people have named it, it becomes a monument that the people have named to be worshipped annually and will become the \u201c Second Nebuchadnezzar\u201d, calling his people to worship the image instead of God.<\/p>\n
Not only this, but there are serious implications for people entering the website. What does the word “OPM” mean? Not what you think it means, what does it mean and why not a name that is opened? What happens when you enter the website to do your entries? And since it\u2019s a gateway whom are you allowing access to you and things which concerns you, once you have entered the site?<\/p>\n
I leave you to figure out the rest.<\/p>\n
