It was with deep dismay and sadness that we learnt of the passing of Prime Minister David Thompson of Barbados.<\/p>\n
We therefore send our sincere condolences to his wife and family as well as to the government and people of Barbados as they come to terms with the death of a well loved son of the soil who distinguished himself so early in politics.\u00a0 The region itself has lost a leader who believed in\u00a0 the integration process devoting a great deal of his time and energy to promoting the integration agenda through the CSME.<\/p>\n
As his family and Barbadians mourn his passing, we are sure that in their hour of grief they will remember his contribution to national and regional development with pride. The Dominica Freedom Party hopes that his contribution will not go unheralded but serve as\u00a0 a beacon for stronger and continued efforts to bring the region together\u00a0 for the benefit of us all.<\/p>\n
