This may be due to the interference of principalities in the realm of the spirit. We see an example of this in Daniel 10. Daniel was a man of prayer. He prayed fervently to God daily. Yet, His prayers were hindered for 21 by a principality caused by the Prince of Persia. Michael, the warring angel was sent to fight this principality in order for Daniel\u2019s prayer to be manifested. This all happened in a period of twenty one days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before they God, thy words were heard, and I am come for the words.\u00a0 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.\u201d\u00a0 Daniel 10:12,13<\/p>\n<p>The Word of God tells us in Psalm 91:11 it states \u201cFor He give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.\u201d\u00a0 We too like Daniel need to call on our warring angels when we pray and ask them to intervene on our behalf. Just imagine, it took Michael, one of the chief princes to fight the demonic prince of Persia in order for Daniel to receive his answer. That tells you just how strong the hindering forces were preventing Daniel\u2019s answer from manifesting.<\/p>\n<p>As believers, we too must be cognizant of the fact that principalities are in operation to try and hinder our prayers from being answered. We are in a war and we have the authority in the name of Jesus Christ to defeat every plot and scheme of the devil.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, when we pray, we must enter in the realm of the spirit and pull down principalities and power, rulers of darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places. We do this by entering into \u2018warfare prayer\u2019. Warfare prayer is prayer that are prayed in the authority of Jesus Christ and pulls down, principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness. Warfare of prayer is very aggressive but when prayed effectively brings results.\u201c\u00a0 \u201cAnd from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent takes it by force.<br \/>\nSt. Matthew 11:12<\/p>\n<p>When praying warfare prayers we identify particular spirits and we bind those spirits in the name of Jesus Christ, and command them to go into dry places. What we bind. The demonic spirits that we address eg. witchcraft, pride, adultery, dwells in the realm of the spirit. Because of the authority that we have in Jesus Christ, once those spirits are bound they can no longer operate. Therefore, once they are not operating in the realm of the spirit, they cannot manifest in the natural.<\/p>\n<p>Warfare prayer can be prayed in the spirit and in the understanding. eg. If a wife who is a Christian knows that her husband is involved in an adulterous relationship, she may pray in her understanding and just bind the spirits of adultery and lust in the name of Jesus. However, if the wife observes the husband acting strangely or just suspects adultery, she can then pray in the spirit with groanings or in her spiritual language of tongues.\u00a0 When she prays in tongues, she does not know what she is praying about but the Holy Spirit prays the perfect prayer.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.\u00a0 \u201cAnd he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is in the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saiths according to the will of God.\u201d Romans 8:26&amp;27<\/p>\n<p>Warfare prayer is even more effective when it is done with fasting. Prayer is powerful. Warfare prayer is even more powerful but warfare prayer and fasting is like dynamite. When we fast as believers, our flesh is put under subjection and our spirit man soars. We become more in-tuned to the Holy Spirit. We are better able to hear and understand what the Lord is saying to us. We kill our flesh and selfish desires and we become alive in Jesus Christ. Though genuine fasting is not for selfish reasons, there are some situations that will not change in the natural if we do not fast and pull them down in the realm of the spirit. In St. Matthew 17:21 it states \u201cThis kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.\u201d Fasting helps our faith in God to grow rapidly and we are then able to believe God in the area that we desire Him to come through for us.<\/p>\n<p>Through Jesus Christ we are guaranteed victory as believers when we pray. With a sound knowledge and understanding of the spiritual realm, the weapons of our warfare and exercising the authority that we have in Jesus Christ as we war in the spirit through warfare prayer; we are able to experience miraculous breakthroughs and live lives of victory.<\/p>\n<p>Giving God the Glory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\u201cFor we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.\u201d Ephesians 6:12\u201d.
