The Dominica Labour Party (DLP) is celebrating one year since its re-election to government this weekend in the midst of opposition claims of a \u201clack of good governance\u201d in Dominica.<\/p>\n

The DLP, who gained an overwhelming 18-3 victory over the United Workers Party at the December 10, 2009 general election, will host an awards ceremony at the Arawak House of Culture this evening. The occasion, according to party officials, is the DLP\u2019s way of honouring some of those who have contributed to the party, and will be carried live on the state-owned radio station.<\/p>\n

But a \u201cBig Red Day\u201d event planned for the Macousherie Beach on Sunday is expected to be the highlight of the celebration. Supporters of the DLP have been urged to come out in red, in solidarity with the ruling DLP.\u00a0 Those present will have the opportunity to take photos with their Parliamentary Representatives and with Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.<\/p>\n
