A physical altercation or fracas on the streets of Roseau or elsewhere in Dominica is by no means an unusual occurrence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So a street fight near the Prevost Cinemall on Tuesday afternoon did not constitute breaking news (apparently, the two young pugilists were involved in a conversation that suddenly turned violent). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there were two interesting aspects of the incident. The first was the coincidental and timely appearance of the police on the scene which resulted in the break-up of the fight and the arrest of the two participants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And secondly, although violence must never be encouraged as a means of settling differences, it was somewhat of a relief to see, as happens too often nowadays, the absence of guns or knives in the fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
