For the second year in a row the Will Strathmore Stevens Primary School has won the Carnival Princess title.<\/p>\n

Eleven-year-old Nyanna Stevens outperformed four other competitors at a show held at the Forecourt of the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on Sunday night to regain that title.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am very happy to be the winner tonight and excited that my school won twice in a row,\u201d she told Dominica News Online (DNO) during an interview shortly after she was crowned.<\/p>\n

Stevens said she received help from her family and teachers helped prepare her for the competition.<\/p>\n

She said she wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up.<\/p>\n

Stevens advice to other young girls who wishes to participate in the Carnival Princess competition is to believe in themselves, \u201cand have confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also picked up the awards for Best in Spectacular Wear, Best Talent and People\u2019s Choice Award.<\/p>\n

First runner up position went to Alianne Toussaint of the Convent Preparatory School\u00a0Toussaint who also won the awards for Miss Congeniality and Miss Intelligence.<\/p>\n

Kaylee Titre of the Grandbay Primary School secured the 2nd runner up spot. She copped the award for Best in Party Dress.<\/p>\n

Mersaydes Frederick of the St Martin Primary School won the award for Miss Photogenic. The other contestant was Ayeesha Stoute of the St Luke\u2019s Primary School.<\/p>\n

Sherkhia Andrew won the Carnival Princess title last year.<\/p>\n
