Annette Phillip<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

New Children\u2019s Author, Dominican born\u00a0Annette<\/span>\u00a0Phillip has released her first children\u2019s book called \u2018Sammy\u2019s Curious Adventure\u2019.<\/p>\n

Phillip ,who now resides in New York, told Dominica News Online (DNO) during an interview on Friday that the book is based on a true story.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe book is based on Sammy, a child I babysat some years ago,\u201d she said.\u00a0Phillip said 100 copies were printed as a trial and have already almost sold out.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt sold out well, everybody loved it,\u201d. Adding, \u201cI have been selling them to family and friends and right now I only have 10 remaining.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Phillip she plans to visit the libraries to arrange to have her books available there, \u201cand also in the bookstores.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of them signed me up already, Greenlight Bookstore, \u201cI also want to do book signings, I have a few places that offered to use their business place in order to get a wider audience,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Phillip revealed that part 2 and 3 of her book will be available at a later time.\u00a0She is also seeking a distributor here in Dominica to assist in selling her books.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love to get them involved,\u201d she stated. \u201cIt\u2019s a children\u2019s book.\u201d\u00a0If that is made possible the books will be sold at the available bookstores in Dominica for EC$15.<\/p>\n

Copies of her book can be purchased from her website\u00a0www.sammythebunny.com<\/a>. They are available in PDF at the cost of US$5 and US$10 for the printed copy.<\/p>\n

She is also working on making her books available on Amazon.\u00a0She mentioned that after the book sales the money earned will be used to print larger copies of her book.<\/p>\n

Annette<\/span> is presently working on a poetry book. Phillip was born and raised in Goodwill. She loved writing poetry and reading as a child. She decided to broaden her talent by writing her first children\u2019s book.<\/p>\n

One of her poems appeared in June 2018 in a book called \u201cFractured Poetics\u201d which is presently\u00a0selling on Amazon<\/a>. Another of her poems \u2018Her name was Maria,\u2019 was also featured by\u00a0Island Signatures Magazine<\/a>\u00a0out of Barbados.\u201d<\/p>\n

She hopes to go on to publish her short stories and in the near future, her string of poems.<\/p>\n
