Chayante Tyson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Police are investigating a traffic collision which claimed the life of 17-year-old Chayante Tyson of Crayfish River on Sunday 8th March 2020.<\/p>\n

Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Inspector Simon Edwards, said the accident occurred at about 4:00am along the Castle Bruce Main Road [in an area known as the Castle Bruce stretch].<\/p>\n

Twenty-four-year-old Cusnar Vidal of St. Cyr who was the driver at the time, lost control of the pick-up van Reg #TN897 and as a result, the van collided with a utility pole.<\/p>\n

Tyson was transported to the Castle Bruce Health Centre where he succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.<\/p>\n

His body was transported to the Lynhurst Funeral Home pending a Post-Mortem Examination.<\/p>\n

Edwards said at the time of the collision there were seven (7) occupants on the vehicle, two of whom sustained serious injuries and are admitted at the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital.<\/p>\n

According to information received by DNO, the death of Tyson, who turned 17 on the 1st of March, sent shockwaves throughout the community, especially among the family and friends who are saddened by the loss of the young man.<\/p>\n

Dominica News Online (DNO) wishes to extend sincerest condolences to Tyson’s family and prays for the speedy recovery of the others who were injured in the accident.<\/p>\n
