{"id":24842,"date":"2011-01-07T11:08:42","date_gmt":"2011-01-07T15:08:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/dno\/?p=24842"},"modified":"2011-01-07T11:08:42","modified_gmt":"2011-01-07T15:08:42","slug":"alive-word-forsaken-but-not-by-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/homepage\/columns\/alive-word\/alive-word-forsaken-but-not-by-god\/","title":{"rendered":"ALIVE WORD: Forsaken, but not by God"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_21541\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21541\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21541\" title=\"mom2\" src=\"http:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/dno\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/mom21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/mom21.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/mom21-150x108.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-21541\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ministers Wilbert and Jacqueline Richardson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Many have entered the year 2011 with heavy hearts, burdened and  troubled about many things.<\/p>\n<p>On the outside they seem happy but it is  just a sham.\u00a0 On the inside they are torn apart and troubled feeling  lost, alone and forsaken.<\/p>\n<p>For some its marital issues, others are  concerned about their children who seem to be heading to a cliff.\u00a0 For  some it\u2019s financial crisis; while for others its health issues.\u00a0 Yet for  others even in the midst of a crowd they feel so very alone.\u00a0 Some are  being oppressed day and night by the forces of the enemy.<\/p>\n<p>You will be  surprised to know the number of people who do not know the last time  they had a good night sleep.\u00a0 For some it\u2019s a New Year with old pains.\u00a0  For some the mental and emotional pain is so deep they are plagued with  thoughts of suicide.\u00a0 God wants us to keep it real.\u00a0 This is not the  year to \u2018fake it until you make it\u2019.\u00a0 No matter what is burdening you or  troubling you, release it to the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>You may be wondering why bad things seem to happen to good people,  why the wicked seem to be prospering, while you are struggling.\u00a0 Be  comforted with the words of Psalm 37:1-2 \u201cFret not thyself because of  evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.\u00a0 For  they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green  herb.\u201d\u00a0 One thing is sure, the Word of God does not lie and Psalm 7:9  states \u201cOh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but  establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is not the will of God that we be burned out, burdened and  troubled feeling alone and forsaken.\u00a0 God has promised in Hebrews 13:5b  \u201c\u2026for he hath said, I will never leave thee, <strong>nor forsake<\/strong> thee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you put all your confidence and trust in man you will be  disappointed and let down because men are fallible and bound to fail but  God never fails.\u00a0 People will praise you one minute and put a knife in  your back with a smile the next.\u00a0 Although it is important for us to  have healthy relationships in our lives, we cannot depend solely on  people to make us happy and keep us full of joy.\u00a0 Our source of joy must  come from someone higher than man or when that person fails us or that  person is not there or that person leaves us we would fall apart.\u00a0 We  must look to God and trust Him for all things for He is always with us.\u00a0  \u201c\u2026lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.\u201d\u00a0 St.  Matthew 28:20b<\/p>\n<p>Even as I write, I am hearing someone saying \u201cLord, I need strength; I  feel like I cannot go on.\u201d\u00a0 Know that as you cry out to God in this  hour, He will strengthen you.\u00a0 \u201cBe strong and of a good courage; be not  afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee  whithersoever thou goest.\u201d\u00a0 Joshua 1:9b<\/p>\n<p>Abundant life in Jesus Christ is more than just saying religious  clich\u00e9s, going through the motion and doing and saying what is  expected.\u00a0 It is about a relationship with Jesus Christ \u2013 one in which  we know that no matter what we may face, God not only has our backs but  out top, bottom and sides also.\u00a0 He provides for us, loves us, protects  us, makes ways for us, guides us, and perfects everything that concerns  us.<\/p>\n<p>Beloved, God is not sleeping.\u00a0 He has not forgotten you.\u00a0 He knows  your address but more important, He knows you.\u00a0 Call on Him today and  know that as you do, He hears and answers you.\u00a0 Remember, you are not  alone or forsaken, for God is with you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRAYER:<\/strong> Father in the name of Jesus Christ, we pray  today for those who feel alone and forsaken.\u00a0 We pray that they will  realize that you have promised never to leave nor forsake your own.\u00a0 We  bind the yokes of oppression, frustration and discouragement and we  command them to be broken in Jesus name.\u00a0 We thank you for flooding  their hearts and minds with your peace, that they may experience your  joy and your love.\u00a0 Lord we believe today that you will give them an  extraordinary blessing that will help them to realize that you are with  them.\u00a0 Lord may your Name be praised, honored and glorified in Jesus  name we pray.\u00a0 Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Many have entered the year 2011 with heavy hearts, burdened and troubled about many things.
