Fire officials are investigating the cause of a\u00a0 fire on Victoria street on Sunday which destroyed the property of businessman Reginald Burke.<\/p>\n

According to an eyewitness, the fire which originated from the back of the building which once housed the Newtown Primary School, causing severe damage to the structure, started as a bush fire.<\/div>\n

” It was a bush fire and since it was windy, it went out of control and no one was able to contain it,” the eyewitness said.<\/div>\n

Burke, who uses the area as an auto repair workshop, lost everything.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“We lost all out tools, computers and the vehicles in the yard…a total loss,” Burke said.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He also expressed disappointment about the time it took the fire truck to arrive.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“It took them over an hour to get there…if they had arrived earlier, we would have saved a lot, although they quickly contained it on arrival,” he said.<\/div>\n
