The additional financing ensures that important health projects receive quick replenishment of funds to continue their activities and accomplish project objectives,\u201d Sayed stated.<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Additional financing of US$10 million is provided to the <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.worldbank.org\/en\/projects-operations\/project-detail\/P168539\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/projects.worldbank.org\/en\/projects-operations\/project-detail\/P168539&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1593524789091000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGeXMDQMIijv8xH1nCbWfIeHk94UA\"><b>Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Regional Health Project<\/b><\/a> in Dominica (US$3 million), Grenada (US$2.5 million), and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (US$4.5 million).\u00a0The OECS Regional Health Project aims to improve preparedness capacities of health systems for public health emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>Additional financing of US$5 million was also approved for Saint Lucia\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/projects.worldbank.org\/en\/projects-operations\/project-detail\/P166783?lang=en#:~:text=The%20development%20objective%20of%20the,project%20comprises%20of%20four%20components.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/projects.worldbank.org\/en\/projects-operations\/project-detail\/P166783?lang%3Den%23:~:text%3DThe%2520development%2520objective%2520of%2520the,project%2520comprises%2520of%2520four%2520components.&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1593524789091000&amp;usg=AFQjCNG0aADALs0MpobSZxk6nk-I3QVPJg\"><b>Health System Strengthening Project<\/b><\/a>,\u00a0which supports improved accessibility, efficiency, and responsiveness of key health services.<\/p>\n<p>These projects rapidly released funds to support national responses to COVID-19 using their Contingent Emergency Response Components (CERCs). CERCs allow funds to be reallocated rapidly from existing projects and used for emergency response activities.<\/p>\n<p>The additional financing for these projects comes from the International Development Association (IDA) with a maturity of 40 years, including a grace period of 10 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dominica is to benefit from additional financing which is being provided by the World Bank for health sector projects in the Eastern Caribbean.
