{"id":251785,"date":"2020-06-30T19:20:38","date_gmt":"2020-06-30T23:20:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/?p=251785"},"modified":"2020-07-01T10:16:54","modified_gmt":"2020-07-01T14:16:54","slug":"two-grand-bay-men-charged-with-murder-of-kings-hill-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/homepage\/homepage-carousel\/two-grand-bay-men-charged-with-murder-of-kings-hill-man\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Grand Bay men charged with murder of Kings Hill man"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_251793\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-251793\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-251793\" src=\"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Murder-accused-after-court-Marvin-Marlon-Albert-and-Samron-Thomas-Black-sleeveless-shirt-642x471.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"470\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-251793\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Murder-accused after court-Marvin Marlon Albert (left) and Samron Thomas (in black, sleeveless shirt)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two young men from the community of Grand Bay have been arrested and charged for the murder of 23-year old Damien Ernest of Kings Hill.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The two, who appeared before magistrate Michael Laudat where the charge of murder was read to them, are 19-year-old Marvin Marlon Albert of Grand Coulibrie and 20-year old Samron Thomas of Montin, Grand Bay<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Police reported that the body of Ernest was found at about 11 am on Saturday, June 27<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020 on the road close to the Boeri Lake lying face down with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was taken to the Casualty Department of the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) where the body was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since the charge is a capital offense and must be tried before a judge and jury, the men were not required to enter a plea. Thomas is represented by attorney-at-law, Wayne Norde while Albert is so far unrepresented.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The matter has been adjourned to September 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the meantime, both young men are on remand at the Stock Farm Prison.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two young men from the community of Grand Bay have been arrested and charged for the murder of 23-year old Damien Ernest of Kings Hill.
