The lawyer told the court that she had received the disclosure date late with no notice and time to prepare her case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder the circumstances I need time to prepare&#8230; Disclosure was given with no notice,\u201d the lawyer said.<\/p>\n<p>The police prosecutor assured the court that he too had only received the related file on Friday from the Director of Public Prosecution\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Four witnesses who are to present testimonies for the prosecution also appeared at the hearing this morning.<\/p>\n<p>According to the court, the complainant is to travel on February 8, 2010 to receive medical treatment on February 11, 2010.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not sure how long it will take. The complainant has an appointment on February 11 out of state and we are not sure as to his return&#8230;.\u201dthe prosecutor said.<\/p>\n<p>Since the incident and the charge of the defendant, Joseph\u2019s family has been very public on their opinions about what they say is leniency by police and the law on the charge and bail given to the Lestrade.<\/p>\n<p>Lestrade was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 on October 5,2009 following the incident on October 3, 2009. Following much speculation about the incident and the treatment of the defendant, Deputy Police Commissioner Cyril Carette had denied that the police were involved in any cover-up to protect the former commissioner\u2019s son.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph, who appeared in court on crutches today,\u00a0 is expected to testify against Lestrade when the trial commences on February 1, 2010.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Linden Lestrade, the son of former Police Commissioner Matthias Lestrade, will stand trial on Monday next week on a charge of shooting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
