The Dominica Labour Party (DLP) could soon be announcing a date for its next annual delegates conference.<\/p>\n

According to General Secretary of the DLP, Edward Registe, it is expected that that decision will be made at the party’s National Council Meeting which is scheduled to be on Saturday 27th<\/sup> February, 2021.<\/p>\n

He said the date for the Council meeting was set a recent executive meeting of the DLP, the first for 2021.<\/p>\n

According to Registe, the national council meeting is the highest decision-making body of the DLP and its main responsibility is to summon the convening of the party\u2019s delegate\u2019s conference following the hosting of the national council meeting on February 27th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is anticipated that the party will host its delegate\u2019s conference just after the Lenten season at a venue and date to be decided by the national council meeting,\u201d Registe stated.<\/p>\n

He said this year\u2019s delegate\u2019s conference will chart a new course for the party and elect a new executive to run the affairs of the DLP.<\/p>\n

What was announced as the DLP delegates conference at Londonderry on February 27th, 2019, took the form of a rally where Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, having been given the mandate by the party, to select candidates for the 2019 general elections, announced his team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Dominica Labour Party (DLP) could soon be announcing a date for its next annual delegates conference.
