{"id":263356,"date":"2021-02-12T10:07:06","date_gmt":"2021-02-12T14:07:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/?p=263356"},"modified":"2021-03-14T16:46:37","modified_gmt":"2021-03-14T20:46:37","slug":"tk-international-band-cancels-mega-monday-douvan-jou-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/covid-19\/tk-international-band-cancels-mega-monday-douvan-jou-event\/","title":{"rendered":"TK International band cancels \u2018Mega Monday Douvan Jou\u2019 event"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_263357\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-263357\" style=\"width: 634px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-263357\" src=\"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/TK-band.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"634\" height=\"348\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/TK-band.jpg 634w, https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/TK-band-300x165.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 634px) 100vw, 634px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-263357\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Manager of TK International, Geoffrey Joseph<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The much-anticipated \u2018Mega Monday Douvan Jou\u2019 event organized by bouyon band TK International has been officially cancelled.<\/p>\n<p>Manager of TK International, Geoffrey Joseph, made the announcement on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter jumping through many loops to produce the 2021 edition of \u2018Mega Monday\u2019 under strict measures, we regrettable have to inform the public that the authorities have decided to withdraw the conditional concert for our event,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, \u00a0although the authorities have not made an official pronouncement, the band has decided to take a difficult decision to cancel the event based on a few public utterances which does not support public gatherings, \u201cand some concerning information which was disclosed to us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Joseph continued, \u201cConclusively the authorities have cited the increase in illegal entries as the leading cause for the apprehension and concern.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He made it clear that the logistics of the event does not permit an adjustment to the date as is being suggested by the police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, we are officially advising that Douva Jou Mega Monday 2021 is officially canceled,\u201d he reiterated.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph said all ticket holders of this event and those holding tickets for the \u201cLock De Gate\u201d series which should have taken place last year are asked to return their tickets for a full refund.<\/p>\n<p>According to him the team will be present on Saturday 13th February from 10AM to 2PM at Heritage Restaurant on Old Street to issue refunds.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph noted that only persons with original tickets in hand will be refunded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd also note that only cheque refunds will be made available,\u201d Joseph remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Triple Kay apologizes to all the fans, friends, patrons, sponsors and team for having to make this difficult decision, \u201chowever the authorities are acting on advice for the best interest of the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The much-anticipated \u2018Mega Monday Douvan Jou\u2019 event organized by bouyon band TK International has been officially cancelled.
