Pierre Williams<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A Salisbury family is now in search of their missing relative who was last seen on Wednesday February 24, 2021, aboard a blue fishing boat.<\/p>\n

Pierre Williams, aged 50 from Salisbury, is said to have vanished in open waters on that date.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Dominica News Online (DNO), Agatha Williams, a family member of the missing man, stated that on the day in question, Pierre Williams and a few other fishermen in the community, were on the beach at Salisbury\u00a0 when he borrowed his friend’s boat and went out but never made it back to shore.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, he was doing his normal little fishing and then he went out with the boat but the guy said he noticed at one point the wind got very high so the guys by the bay said they were looking at him from shore but at one point he vanished,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Ms. Williams added, \u201cSo after a while when they realised the wind was getting stronger, they sent someone to look for him but they didn\u2019t get him but it\u2019s something he was always doing so there was no suspicion involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said however, later in the evening when he had failed to return, the family became concerned.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo in the night, the Salisbury police were informed that he was missing and they called the Coast Guard who also came to look for him that same night but [no] luck as yet,\u201d Ms. Williams said.<\/p>\n

According to her, the French authorities who were also assisting in the search and rescue have since discontinued their assistance.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the time he was reported missing, we have seen all different boats on the sea and helicopters searching but the police told us this morning that Guadeloupe called off the search on their end because they not finding no signs of him,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Ms. Williams said their family would love to be reunited with the missing man alive and in good spirits but if he has suffered an unfortunate fate, they would like to have his body recovered\u00a0 for closure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A Salisbury family is now in search of their missing relative who was last seen on Wednesday February 24, 2021, aboard a blue fishing boat.
