The sentencing of Rodman Moses Lewis has been adjourned for the third time after the prosecution indicated that they intend to cross examine Consultant Psychiatrist Dr. Nadia Wallace and a Welfare Officer based on their report.<\/p>\n
Lewis was convicted in November 2020 for the November 2015 murder of his ex-girlfriend and child\u2019s mother, Triscia Riviere, at the end of a six and a half week trial.<\/p>\n
Following his conviction, the court set Monday, 1st February, 2021, for sentencing but the matter was adjourned as information mandated by the court in order to proceed with sentencing, was not available.<\/p>\n
Prior to adjourning the matter to March 16,\u00a0 2021, Justice Wynante Adrien- Roberts ordered that a psychiatric evaluation\u00a0 for Lewis be presented before that date.<\/p>\n
However, on the adjourned date, the psychiatric report required was not available as Dr. Wallace had failed to comply with the court\u2019s order and had not provided any reason for her non-compliance.<\/p>\n
As such, a bench warrant was issued for her arrest\u00a0 and later vacated and May 4, 2021, was set as the new date for sentencing.<\/p>\n
At the sentence hearing yesterday,\u00a0 Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Sherma Dalrymple said that Dr. Wallace’s report as well as the Social Inquiry report by a Welfare Officer required \u201cextensive examination.\u201d<\/p>\n
The matter was adjourned to May 7, 2021.<\/p>\n
