After successfully achieving 3rd runner up\u00a0in the 2021 calypso competition,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>AbiYah Yisrael<\/strong>\u00a0is back for her third year as she delivers a calypso titled,\u00a0“Man”<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

AbiYah<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0this year brings\u00a0a very powerful message of how we are the ones plotting our own demise as humans. Wrapped in powerful percussive rhythms the song speaks of political issues, climate change,sexual abuse and neglect of children.\u00a0AbiYah\u00a0<\/strong>reminds us of our responsibility to love\u00a0each other as we continue to focus on nation building. In addition\u00a0AbiYah<\/strong>\u00a0points out the importance of\u00a0‘Man’<\/strong>\u00a0as a male figure in\u00a0society and national building.\u00a0AbiYah<\/strong>\u00a0says “to some degree the strength and quality of society is reliant on the character and discipline of men towards their duty. However it still remains a collective effort from everyone. This is why as the song says,\u00a0<\/strong>we should examine our conscience , search out our actions and I\u00a0am sure we will realize, man problem is man<\/em>“.<\/span><\/p>\n

The song was written by\u00a0Hilroy ‘ObadYah’ Alfred<\/strong>. The track was arranged, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered \u00a0at\u00a0ChaYah Studios<\/strong>. The bass guitar was done by\u00a0Jervon ‘Natty Bill’ Henderson.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
