President of the local branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Alix Boyd Knights has highlighted Dominica\u2019s first female calypso monarch Tasha P and Lady of Song Ophelia Marie as some Dominican women who she says have proven to be agents of change.<\/p>\n

Knights\u2019 remarks came as Dominica held an ecumenical service in observance of Commonwealth Day today under the theme: \u201cWomen as Agents of Change\u201d.<\/p>\n

Commonwealth Day has been used as an avenue to learn about the history of the grouping and the issues that affect member territories.<\/p>\n

The Commonwealth as a grouping can speak of good \u201ccamaraderie\u201d over the years as it aims to improve the lives of citizens through the work of Commonwealth organizations, according to Knights.<\/p>\n

53 countries now make up the Commonwealth.
