The Antigua and Barbuda Government has named Hollywood star Angela Bassett as one of its latest Tourism Ambassadors.<\/p>\n

Dawn Lewis, another actress, was also named as an ambassador.<\/p>\n

Both women are now responsible for promoting the destination.<\/p>\n

Basset, according to Chief of Staff in the Office of the Prime Minister, Lionel Hurst, has shown her love for Antigua by visiting frequently and using her star power that has been earned by being featured in scores of movies.<\/p>\n

The government said their appointments are voluntary, do not involve any remuneration and they have agreed to make appearances on behalf of Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>\n

The movie stars are both currently in Antigua to participate in Sailing Week and in the entertainment events that form part of the week-long activities.<\/p>\n

They met with Prime Minister Gaston Browne and other tourism officials.<\/p>\n

The stars also traveled to Barbuda during their stay in Antigua.<\/p>\n
