Sources told iWitness News that Linton was scheduled to leave St. Vincent on the Friday before he was found dead.<\/p>\n<p>A man, who informed police of the discovery of the body, was detained but was subsequently released.<\/p>\n<p>Another news organization, The St Vincent Times, has reported that Linton may have been shot by his own gun.<\/p>\n<p>Linton was an Agricultural Engineer, employed with the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) as its Representative in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.<\/p>\n<p>CARDI has since said that the news of Linton\u2019s death was unbelievably shocking and deeply sad.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the organization said that Linton was its representative in St Vincent and the Grenadines since 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy here in Dominica has also expressed sadness at the killing of Linton.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis former colleagues at the Ministry of Agriculture are deeply saddened by his passing and remember Greg for his humility, professionalism, and dedication to the field of agricultural research and development.
