However, Paul-Victor argued that as a former Minister of Health and a medical doctor, the Minister of Finance ought to be aware of the dreadful state of the country\u2019s public healthcare system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMr. Speaker, most Dominicans at some point or another have heard about the horror stories and experiences at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital,\u201d she argued. \u201cIt is indeed absurd for the administration to assert that Dominica has an effective and enviable health system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She said further that while the 2023-2024 National Budget may boast about new facilities and staff, \u201cwhat truly matters are health outcomes, not only the inputs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the opposition leader, despite claims that healthcare spending consumes a significant portion of the Budget, the actual outcomes are appalling.
