A man is currently receiving medical care at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) after sustaining a gunshot wound on Hillsborough Street, near Republic Bank and All Saints University.<\/p>\n

A reporter from Dominica News Online (DNO) happened to be near the bank shortly before 1 pm when a single gunshot rang out. This resulted in one injured individual seeking refuge within the All Saints University compound while the suspected assailant casually left the scene.<\/p>\n

According to other eyewitnesses, the victim was walking in that area when he was approached by the assailant. A physical altercation ensued, during which the suspect brandished a firearm, ultimately shooting the victim in the hand.<\/p>\n

Multiple witnesses confirmed that the assailant, who was dressed entirely in black, also forcibly took a gold chain from around the injured individual’s neck before making his escape.<\/p>\n

Within 10 minutes, law enforcement and medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported the injured man, who had sought refuge inside All Saints University, to the hospital.<\/p>\n

DNO will continue to follow this incident and provide information on further developments.<\/p>\n
