Meritta Hyacinth<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Education Minister, Octavia Alfred said she is confident that the new President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) West Indies, Meritta Hyacinth will further amplify the organization\u2019s mission and inspire a new generation of leaders to actively participate in the betterment of society.<\/p>\n

Miss Hyacinth was installed as president during the 63rd JCI West Indies National Convention held in Antigua and Barbuda recently and is the first Dominican to hold this position.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ministry of Education applauds Miss Hyacinth’s outstanding dedication and congratulates her on this well-deserved achievement,\u201d Alfred said. \u201cWe are confident that she will do well as the JCI West Indies president and she will further amplify the organization and inspire a new generation of leaders to actively participate in the betterment of our community and society at large.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cMiss Hyacinth’s remarkable achievement as the first Dominican to be elected into this prestigious position in the 64-year history of JCI in the West Indies serves as a testament to her excellence, leadership, and her unwavering commitment to serve.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Alfred, Junior Chamber International has played a fundamental role in fostering leadership development and promoting social responsibility, not only within the Caribbean region but also on a global scale. Through its emphasis on international cooperation and sustainable development, JCI has left a permanent mark on communities, fostering collaboration and empowering young leaders to drive positive change.<\/p>\n

Miss Hyacinth currently serves as the senior programme officer at the Ministry of Education and has demonstrated an exceptional passion for community service and a profound commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of Dominica.<\/p>\n
